Managing the different types of crops that you’re growing is a big part of FieldClock, and your operation. Our Variety Edit form allows you to create as many crop types as you need - there’s no limit. These can then be used to differentiate Jobs in the same field if you have mixed planting.
To create a Variety, first login to the Admin site and click the “Admin” button from your left-hand navigation menu. Next, click the “Varieties” tab. Then, click the “New Variety” button on the right-hand side of your screen. To edit an existing variety, select one from your Varieties list followed by the “Edit Variety” button.
- First, “Name” your Variety… Something like Fuji or Bing…
- Then, optionally select a “Color” for better identification in lists…
- “Payroll Codes” allow you to input a single payroll code, which will be applied to all of your Payroll Entities, or you can assign different codes if you have more than one Entity. For more information about Payroll Codes, please watch our video titled “How to map payroll codes” lined below…
Varieties allow you to track which crops you grow, which means more control over your data and proper cost allocation.
